Try the LAAS app

Dear backers
While we are hard at work (and believe us, we are) finalizing everything needed to ship you all the locks, such as CE and tracking testing, we want to show you the app's progress and hopefully get some valuable feedback.
How to try the app (only for Apple users at this point)
We created virtual 'fake locks' needed to access the app. The virtual locks are unique and tied to a user account once scanned, so we need to share them with you individually. If you want to try, message us, and we'll send you a virtual lock.
Step 1: Once the virtual lock is received, open this link on your iPhone to install TestFlight and LAAS app: https://testflight.apple.com/join/3id2E4SD
Step 2: Open the LAAS app and scan the QR (virtual lock) code provided by us (you need to open the QR code on another device to scan it)
Step 3: Sign In (for now via Google and Microsoft. Apple and Facebook will be added before the launch.
Step 4: Add a name for your lock and press continue
... Behold the app! You can now invite friends and family to share fake locks and create lock groups.
Thank you for your support and patience.
Talk to you soon,
Marcus
Insurance certification update

Dear Backers,
Today my colleague brought a lot of locks to the most intricate lock-pick testers in the business: The Danish Varefakta. These guys know their way around a bike lock or two and went haywire on the O-lock. Needless to say the lock did great!
Once the lock has been insurance certified in Denmark, we will get the certification in Sweden and Holland as well.
Hope you enjoy the video!
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Talk to you soon,
Marcus
All things testing

Dear Backers,
I am checking in to let you know that everything has gone as planned since my last update. I'm still in China (I promised you I wouldn't leave until the locks were ready), ensuring everything runs smoothly.
I've been visiting test labs this week, and the Shenzhen CTL Testing Technology lab will initiate CE, FCC, and other tests required to ship the lock with batteries inside next week. As we speak, I'm digitally deep diving to get the documents needed to start 🤿
Speaking of testing,
Since the firmware team made me this test firmware that unlocks every fifth second, I have been obsessed with real-life reliability testing and brought the lock with me at all times.
Including a Xamien beach party with German car engineers(who can talk about testing for hours); not even a coffee break could stop me!
Thank you for being so supportive!
All the best,
Marcus
Update

Dear Backers,
As we move closer to our release date, I wanted to update you on the previous months of work. To oversee and expedite the delivery of locks to all of you, I have relocated to China and India in the past months; this has meant spending most of my time at the factories and with partners to ensure we get a high-quality product as fast as possible.
We have progressed on several items.
- Mechanical stress and endurance testing.
- Readied and calibrated plastic mold shots, and pipes.
- Conducted PCB test and scale shots, with desired quality and yield percentages.
- Everything is to make it more reliable and more accessible to mass produce.
In India, software developer Alumnus has progressed with several internal app releases - some of the features I want to highlight here.
You can create groups and grant access to family and friends in the app. We've made the user interface as simple as possible to secure a smooth interaction with the app.
So what's happening now?
Im spending this week at the Copenhagen office and will be back in China for the next production phase when their labor days vacation is over Wednesday next week.
As you can tell, our absolute priority is to prepare the locks for production and delivery and ensure quality above all else.
We expect a delivery slip, but we will start a 14-day update schedule, so you can expect updates every 14 days until launch. Sometimes with significant updates and other times, more of a check-in to say we are hard at work and to provide some behind-the-scenes photos and videos.
I'm aiming not to leave China until your locks are ready. Hopefully, that means sooner rather than later ;)

Production update

Hi backers!
We've been in China for the past 3 weeks overseeing the beginning of production. And things are going smooth, we are on schedule, and everyone is enjoying the process.
This is our plastic tooling, producing all the things you won't see - but that makes the lock work - on the inside of the lock.
Soon we'll travel on to oversee the development of the software, so that you can all unlock with a tap on your phone!
Talk to you later, and thanks for being on this journey with us.
All the best,
Team LAAS
