Can it be cut?
The O-lock is as secure as any ring lock on the market. Can it be cut? Of course, the thief can cut any lock with patience. What it can’t, though, is being lockpicked, as there is no keyhole.

Can it be hacked?
Yes. Anything is hackable. O-lock uses an encrypted Bluetooth 5 communication. If you can hack it, your skills are probably better for hacking a bank.

What makes it different from other smart locks?
The O-lock is simply put more… simple. Less tech means fewer things to go wrong. That’s why we don’t stuff it with features like alarms that will go off when a friend of yours borrows your bike. Our App is made for private users, enabling a smooth sharing feature.

What’s the battery life?
Because we simplified the lock to make it more sturdy, we have the most extended battery life of +2 years. The O-lock uses a non-rechargeable CR123 battery + emergency power in case the user ignores all low-power notifications for more than a month. +2 years battery life is achieved by the Bluetooth being in sleep mode most of the time and by taking advantage of the user’s muscle power to lock it rather than using a motor.

Is it insurance approved?
We guarantee Danish backers a Varefakta approval, and Dutch backers a minimum ART-II.We are far in the Danish certification process. The Danish insurance approval is the strictest one out there, so once done, we will make sure to get the Dutch ART certificate. Danish and Dutch backers wanting the O-lock with insurance approvals might need to wait longer than other backers.

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
Terms & Conditions
1. Shipping
Shipping is free to all EU member states, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, the United States and Canada.
For all other destinations, a flat shipping fee of €20 applies.
Any import duties, customs charges or local taxes outside these regions are the responsibility of the customer.
2. Delivery
Shipping begins on August 15, 2026.
3. Finish Your Order
Complete your survey and add any extra perks by July 31, 2026.
After this date, surveys will be locked and production will begin.
Backers who complete their survey after July 31, 2026 will be shipped later, subject to inventory availability.
If anyone understands delays… it’s us. 😅
To help us close the project, all surveys must be completed by December 31, 2027.
4. 100-Day Trial
Try your Ring-Lock for 100 days.
If you don’t love it, send it back within 100 days using the included return label and we’ll refund your purchase.
5. Warranty
Every Ring-Lock includes a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.
The warranty does not cover normal wear, misuse, accidental damage, theft or attempted theft.
